Description and Requirements

Healthfirst is looking for an experienced and creative UI Designer to join our growing team. We’re looking for a person that has a passion for using design as a language to create compelling and easy to use web experiences. The ideal candidate loves the challenge of using brand identity guidelines as a foundation and building comprehensive, detailed, flexible and easy to use style guides for websites, apps and other digital properties. They have experience working in a large enterprise environment, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams of stakeholders and working with industry leading digital experience platforms that feature personalization and automation. The UI Designer is responsible for working closely with the UX designer to create, test, and optimize UI designs for numerous Healthfirst web properties. They are comfortable in a fast-paced environment presenting concepts, receiving feedback, testing and iterating, sketches, layouts, mockups, animations, and prototypes. We’re looking for a person that is inherently curious, intrinsically motivated, highly disciplined and can envision and achieve success. They have outstanding time-management and process-management skills and an unwavering attention to detail.
Job Duties & Responsibilities: Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of Healthfirst’s products and internal processes. Be an active participant in a culture of continuous improvement. Assimilate existing research, brand standards, accessibility guidelines and other industry standards and guidelines to inform design decisions. Collaborate with UX designers and multi-disciplinary team members to create, test, and optimize UI designs for numerous Healthfirst web properties. Present concepts and gather feedback on sketches, layouts, mockups, animations, and prototypes. Make revisions based on feedback. Create a comprehensive design language to enable flexible layouts and easy updates. Collaborate with content developers as needed. Develop UI designs that are fluid/adaptive across browsers and devices. Support the director and UX designer as needed to develop information architecture, workflows, user journey maps, wireframes and other strategic design deliverables. Collaborate with UX designers and researchers on UX measurement, testing and optimization. Work with product owners and developers using agile development processes. Design for and collaborate with developers to leverage lazy or conditional loading and other techniques for optimal performance. Stay up-to-date on industry leading innovations UI design. Share knowledge and inspire colleagues across teams. Complete on-going training as needed to leverage design skills for industry leading digital experience platforms. Minimum Required Educational and Work Experience: 5+ years experience in UI Design for websites and applications built on industry leading digital experience platforms. Ability to articulate and present a portfolio of work that demonstrates collaboration with UX designers and brand teams to develop, document and implement a comprehensive design language for websites or mobile applications – show detailed examples of how you translated your designs into modular easy to use into web components. Expertise with design and rapid prototyping UI tools such as Sketch, InVision, Figma, Miro, Adobe Creative Suite, etc. Experience working with A/B testing platforms such as Optimizely. Experience working with front-end developers using agile development processes and sprint cycles. Experience with HTML, JavaScript and CSS styles and behaviors. Experience with Craft, WordPress, Drupal or other popular CMS platforms. In-depth knowledge of how to design for fast page load speed across browsers and devices. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Teams. Experience working with project management systems such as Robohead, Wrike, JIRA, etc. Experience with collaborating on measurement strategy and website performance reporting. Familiarity with designing for SEO. Preferred Experience That Will Make You Stand Out: Expertise with HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Expertise in UI design for fast page load speed across browsers and devices. Demonstrable experience with UI design for personalization and engagement automation. Demonstrable experience with A/B testing and optimization. Experience in the health insurance industry. Masters degree in UI design or related field.
Hiring Range*: Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $79,300 - $114,580 All Other Locations (within approved locations): $69,800 - $103,870 As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision. In addition to your salary, Healthfirst offers employees a full range of benefits such as, medical, dental and vision coverage, incentive and recognition programs, life insurance, and 401k contributions (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
