Description and Requirements

Reporting to the VP, Quality Assurance (QA) the AVP, Quality Engineering is accountable for the Strategy design & planning, implementation and maintenance of the Digital Quality Assurance Automation tools and framework across all the delivery programs. This individual will contribute directly to the management of Healthfirst’s overall Quality Assurance. Healthfirst has embraced a Scaled Agile Methodology for planning and executing virtually all change initiatives, including Infrastructure. Agile as a methodology favors leadership over command and control management. We use Agile planning methods to sequence work and manage dependencies and priorities.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all HF Delivery strategic and operational programs meet the highest quality possible by following industry recognized testing methodologies and best practices.
  • Build a Quality Automation framework that supports HF Agile, CI-CD and DevOps Delivery process and Pipeline
  • Manage and upgrade the QA set of Automation and Performance and monitoring tools
  • Provide overall QA Leadership of all planning and implementation activities for all QA strategic and operational initiatives ensuring alignment to scheduled releases and impacted areas.
  • Provide leadership and oversight of the overall QA roadmap including but not limited to the following:
    • Test Environment Strategy and Implementation
    • Test Data Management Strategy and Implementation
    • CI-CT-CD Test automation capabilities Strategy and Implementation
    • Tools Strategy and Engineering

  • Build metrics and dashboards to support the quality and performance of our delivered products
  • Enhance and maintain on our Regression (Manual and Automated) suite across systems and platforms
  • Helps to delivery strategic plans and identifies key success factors; sets priorities and allocates necessary resources to achieve corporate, business and function goals.
  • Contributes to the research and introduction, and reviews VP recommendations on new technology to keep pace with new products and industry directions
  • Responsible of QA audits reviews
  • Contributes to capacity planning and forecasts the future growth based on the past trends of usage/growth.
  • Provide inputs and feedback to VP for the implementation and maintenance of QA (Quality Assurance) policies and procedures as it relates to the organization.
  • Manages the performance of direct reports, ensuring they are following departmental and company protocols and completing assignments.

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Proven experience in IT, Insurance
  • Strong Business Acumen and minimum of 10 years prior experience in IT, Computing, and/or Healthcare, Insurance related field
  • Minimum of 5+ years of proven experience leading teams including contractors and/or temporary employees

Hiring Range*:

  • Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $186,100 - $284,835

  • All Other Locations (within approved locations): $186,100 - $284,835

As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision.
