Description and Requirements

The QA Manager is responsible for managing system testing of IT applications by delivering test planning and execution in line with strategic business objectives and priorities. The QA Manager provides technical insight, oversight, strategic context, direction, and leadership to the teams involved. The QA Manager is the business liaison and subject-matter-expert (SME) that embodies Healthfirst’s Culture Drivers promoting and reinforcing behavior consistent with Healthfirst culture. The role ensures all strategic and operational projects meet the highest quality by following industry recognized QA methodologies and best practices.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Aligns Testing Support Services under the Quality Assurance Team for strategic planning as it pertains to organization standards.
  • Builds the testing process and policies along with defining technical solutions and tools to support the testing framework.
  • Ensures that standardized QA methods and procedures are used for efficient and prompt handling of all testing activities and automation opportunities.
  • Emphasizes cross functional team collaboration, analytical prioritization and internal testing audits to ensure product quality.
  • Optimizes testing techniques to ensure the highest levels of quality standards are adhered to as per agreed upon Service Level Agreements (SLA's)
  • Ensures the team has the right working skills and capabilities to execute effectively and efficiently.
  • Profiles manual test cases for automation test opportunities.
  • Reviews functional specifications and assists in evaluating test automation approaches.
  • Generates quality metrics in partnership with Release Management to provide accurate information on team performance.
  • Manages escalated issues and provides timely detailed status reports.
  • Additional duties as assigned or necessary

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in structured testing methodology, with a proven ability to breakdown requirements into high level and detailed test cases.
  • Proven experience as the primary/senior business analyst on enterprise application  implementations. Demonstrated application portfolio and project portfolio management skills, including project planning and budgeting.
  • Proven experience in customer facing applications and Service Delivery Management in an enterprise level IT organization.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Scorecards, Dashboards, Statement of Work (SOWs), SLAs Operational Level Agreement's (OLAs) and Performance management metrics
  • Work experience requiring written and verbal communication that is clear, concise, grammatically correct, and professional.
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint including the creation of process flow diagrams and/or technical process flows.
  • Experience with Test Automation tools
  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree and/or bachelor’s degree in an IT or computer science related field from an accredited institution.
  • Automation Tool certifications
  • Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD related to test automation solutions.
  • Prior people leadership experience
  • Prior experience in healthcare and/or insurance industry
  • Working experience in Extract Transform Load (ETL) and Cloud Environment

Hiring Range*:

  • Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $114,000 - $164,730

  • All Other Locations (within approved locations): $97,800 - $145,520

As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision.
