Description and Requirements

The Domain Test Lead is responsible for the test management and execution of highly complex enterprise-wide technology solutions consisting of multiple work streams and/or projects that support HF’s mission and goals. The incumbent is accountable for delivering test planning, test cases and execution at the domain level; provides team leadership; resource and budget management; technical, strategic and tactical oversight; prepares and presents reports and metrics; ensures that standardized methods and procedures are followed; and partners with Information Technology (IT), Test Strategy and Planning, Project Management and business owners to meet the business objectives and priorities of the domain.

• Test planning and execution
• Ensure all strategic projects and operational projects meet the highest quality possible by following industry recognized testing methodologies and best practices.
• Provide oversight and overall test execution management of all system and integrated release testing in the domain, insuring alignment to project and release level testing.
• Provide oversight and input to test plans and test strategy creation.
• Support in the creation and management of regression test suite and drive automation of testing within the domain.
• Participate in test phase reviews with the business on a periodic basis. Assure proper hand-offs and walk-throughs with project stakeholders are completed.
• Oversight of development of test scenarios, test cases and test data for internal domains and external vendors.
• Accountable for requirements traceability, defect management, test execution and risk mitigation.
• Provide input to QA-related metrics in support of test execution.

• Manage a team of test analysts aligned to the domain.
• Train and/or coordinate training for analysts within the testing domain.
• Assure test analysts remain up-to-date on new technology; organizational changes; industry/product news; SDLC changes; and department and project related information.
• Establish strategic and performance goals at a team and individual level that are aligned to the goals of Healthfirst.
• Manage resource deployment and overall coordination efforts to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget with quality outcomes.
• Enforce standard policies and procedures required by the QA department.
• Continuously promote, design and implement methods to improve quality of processes and products
• Participate in phase gate reviews.
• Collaborate with the Application Development Domain leads, Technical Owners, Project Managers, Business Stakeholders, Technical Services and Business Analysts to ensure planning, execution and delivery is aligned.
• Assist IT and the Business in use and adaptation of QA methodologies and Test Tools.
• Communicate effectively (verbal and written) with IT and business partners.
• Participate in gathering data for Healthfirst Audits.

- Extensive experience in managing testing of systems and applications.
- Strong project management and team management skills e.g. planning, budgetary control and people management, including on and off-shore resources.
- Experience in implementing quality guidelines, standards and procedures
- Participate in selection of professional services/vendor management.
- Strong knowledge and background in Agile Testing.
- Experience coaching/mentoring teams and developing career plans, performance evaluations, and identifying advancement opportunities.
- Familiarity of SQL knowledge and its appropriate use in the test data identification analysis.
- Advanced knowledge of industry standard [domain specific – e.g. managed healthcare claims] business processes and procedures, including but not limited to: benefits, provider contracts and pricing; re-pricing; claims editing; claims workflow; claims reprocessing procedures; audit controls; standard claims ANSI standard transactions (e.g.837); and management reports.
- Proficient in assessing and defining test data needs for successful domain testing and associated upstream and downstream processes.
- Strong experience using HPALM for requirements, test plans, traceability, defect management and test coverage reports.
- Familiarity with test automation and its appropriate use in the overall test strategy.
- Experience facilitating in the integration opportunities for the manual and automated test tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, member-focused, dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
- Ability to express and organize thoughts, ideas and information in a logical and understandable manner, both written and verbal, in relation to issues that fall within their scope of responsibility.
- Bachelor’s degree.

Hiring Range*:

  • Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $128,700 - $196,945

  • All Other Locations (within approved locations): $113,000 - $172,890

As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision.
