Description and Requirements
- Manager Support – Work with Asst. Director of Payroll to develop polices and procedures in the payroll department.
- Oversee day to day payroll operations in area of responsibility utilizing the Workday platform.
- Audit the work of staff members in area of responsibility.
- Partner Service – Respond to escalated employee inquiries through the Payroll email inbox.
- Preparation of various payroll analysis and reconciliations as well as investigating discrepancies (benefits, earnings, TFB, etc.).
- Management of yearend payroll activities in area of responsibility.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and document retention.
- Train and mentor direct reports.
- Prepare documents for internal/external audits and legal department's requests.
- Run various adhoc reports and present them to management and/or department counterparts.
- Develop internal control of all payroll transactions processed and reconcile them against payroll register.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
- Maintain a high level of trust and regulatory compliance on the Healthfirst Payroll Team.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Highschool Diploma and relevant work experience.
- Prior experience managing multistate payroll processing.
- Prior experience processing payroll through a cloud based HR/Payroll integrated system or through Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software such as Workday, SAP, Ultipro, ADP, Ceridian, Oracle, etc.
- Knowledge of Multistate Taxation regulatory requirements
- Proficient in Excel/Word
- Excellent analytical skills
- Communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
- Demonstrated organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- Prior Managerial Experience in Payroll.
- 5+ Years Experience with multi-state Payroll
- Knowledge of multistate payroll regulatory requirements
- Certified Payroll Professional
- Workday Payroll Experience
- Strong abilities in the MS Office Suite of applications
Hiring Range*:
Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $100,900 - $145,775
All Other Locations (within approved locations): $86,500 - $128,690
As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision.
