Description and Requirements

The IT Technical Lead, in the Infrastructure & Operations (I&O) Platform Program, leads the architecture, installation and management of enterprise networking in a hybrid-cloud environment. The IT Technical Lead demonstrates a ‘hands-on’ background in designing, deploying, and managing complex enterprise network and security solutions supporting AWS, Azure and SaaS integrations. The incumbent will possess a high degree of self-management, personal accountability, and a strong collaborative mindset. Additionally, the IT Technical Lead will be an individual contributor, Servant Leader and will embody Healthfirst’s Trailblazer attributes while promoting and reinforcing behavior that is consistent with our Healthfirst culture.
  • Work as the cloud and enterprise network SME and member of the Shared Infrastructure Services team
  • Provide senior level expertise on decisions and priorities impacting the network and security environment
  • Drive solutions to problems impacting mission critical systems and implement required changes to prevent reoccurrence
  • Follow change management processes to perform network maintenance and upgrades on a regular basis
  • Acts as the liaison and subject matter expert between the architecture and operations teams to integrate technical solutions to existing multifaceted, complex, customer facing production environments
  • Acts as the top-level escalation point for all enterprise network and cloud related technical issues
  • Respond, analyze, and follow up on outstanding network issues at all levels; ensure timely problem resolution
  • Responsible for provisioning and support of the LAN, WAN and Cloud network infrastructure for production environments
  • Maintain an accurate picture of existing server, storage, networking software/hardware and virtual environments to support scaling against various project requirements
  • Ensure all usage of cloud environments meets governance standards and contribute to improving standards for security and operational efficiency
  • Mentor and train shared services staff
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Technical degree or work experience equivalent
  • 3-5 years’ experience in designing, building and managing Linux/Unix-based systems
  • 3-5 years’ experience designing, building and managing Windows systems
  • AWS Certification in Development, Architecture, and/or DevOps or equivalent work experience
  • Comprehensive experience with AWS including a solid understanding of Amazon S3, RDS, EC2, IAM, CloudFormation and Route 53
  • Proficient with scripting in one of the following languages: BASH, Python, Ruby, PowerShell
  • Good verbal & written communication skills with ability to document implementations using MS-Word, Excel and Visio for presentations in PowerPoint or similar tools
  • Thrives in a collaborative team environment and effectively collaborates across teams and organizations
  • Strength in developing green-field technology mastery through a mixture of experimentation and guided learning

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cisco Certification (CCNP/CCIE)
  • AWS Solutions Architect with Advanced Networking Specialty and/or SysOps Administrator
  • Experience architecting, implementing and managing Cisco Nexus and IOS, NetScaler, Arista and Palo Alto network technologies
  • Experience architecting, implementing and managing public cloud integration and configuration activities in both AWS and Azure
  • Possess a strong working and design knowledge of the following protocols: Wired and Wireless technologies, OSPF, BGP, IPSec, SNMP, IPv4 and IPv6, SIP, VoIP
  • Experience with Network monitoring tools including Solarwinds, Splunk and Netflow
  • Experience working in regulated and/or high-security environments and industries (PCI, HIPAA, HITRUST)

Hiring Range*:

  • Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $131,900 - $190,570

  • All Other Locations (within approved locations): $117,400 - $174,675

As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision.
