Description and Requirements

Financial Analyst is responsible for all financial related issues for a group of assigned cost centers. This requires a working knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting and forecasting as well as general business acumen. This position plays an active role in the company’s month end close process duties include: expense accruals, report preparation and variance analysis. This position will assist in the preparation of company-level monthly close materials used in executive-level reporting. This position plays a major role in both the annual budget and quarterly forecasts assisting the cost centers to which they are assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for financial analysis and reporting of assigned cost centers.  Produce monthly variance reports, vendor analysis and executive summaries to business owners.
  • Responsible for monthly accrual preparation for assigned cost centers. Additionally, making all necessary corrections to any financial transactions that have either been incorrectly posted or misclassified.
  • Responsible for preparation of annual budget and quarterly forecasts of assigned cost centers working with cost center owners to ensure adherence to budget targets.
  • Responsible for assisting in the monthly recording and reconciliation of prepaid entries and general ledger account
  • Responsible for assisting in the preparation of month-end close materials utilized for reporting of actual vs. budget results to the CFO and other executives
  • Ad-Hoc analysis and project work when required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution
  • Basic Excel, Word and Power Point knowledge
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices, budgeting and financial reporting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with Workday and Adaptive Insights
  • Previous experience working with computerized general ledger financial systems

Hiring Range*:

  • Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $67,200 - $97,155

  • All Other Locations (within approved locations): $59,800 - $88,910

As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision.
