Description and Requirements

The Benefits Manager reports to the Director of Benefits and is responsible for assisting in the research, development and implementation of our benefit, wellness and retirement plans, programs, and policies. He/she will perform research and analysis to align benefit programs with organizational objectives and goals. and will also be responsible for the administration of benefits plans, including Open Enrollment.
Partners with Director of Benefits in support of the company’s employee benefit, recognition, and retirement program strategy and administration, including open enrollment Conducts benefits analyses, researches benefits practices, and operationalizes programs to improve employee health, wellness, and financial outcomes while assisting with the deployment and sustainability of these plans across the company Conducts research and analysis of benefit programs, monitors and reviews audits, and reports on vendor performance and practices Proactively drives discussions around benefit plan performance and design: Monitors trends and make recommendations to improve effectiveness of employee engagement across all benefit programs Provides management planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing employee benefit data and trends Assists with the design, implementation and administration of innovative employee benefit programs and policies and ensure that all plans are compliant with state and federal laws                Assists with the implementation and communication of all new and health and welfare, retirement, and employee recognition programs         Benchmarks employee benefit practices and best practices, researches industry and employment trends, and tracks legislation to determine impact Recommends changes to employee benefit programs by examining, evaluating, and optimizing employee understanding, interest and need while considering cost, regulatory requirements, and competitive advantage Makes recommendations to reduce costs and improve program delivery where possible Communicates all benefit related information to employees and prepares regular and ad hoc reports for stakeholders; partners closely with Corporate Communications on employee benefits related initiatives Engages in training and development both internally and externally to enhance expertise in benefits design and analysis, and plan management and administration Remains up-to-date on all benefits regulations and continuing trends in the market Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, or a related field Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including writing, presentation and influence skills to communicate clearly and concisely, to convey complex subject matter and persuade and influence employees at all levels Preferred Qualifications:  Deep knowledge of current H&W plan design approaches, insurance products, regulatory environment, etc., and ability to understand broader HR strategy Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) Intermediate Word, Excel, and Outlook skills SHRM CP/SCP certification Workday Experience Ability to work effectively between and among departments and individuals. Builds and sustains collaborative relationships at multiple levels in the organization
Hiring Range*: Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $98,400 - $142,205 All Other Locations (within approved locations): $84,400 - $125,545 As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision.
